EGG HARBOR TWP., N.J., April 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Lifestyle retail icon Spencer Gifts LLC is celebrating the opening of its 100th new design store at Flag Staff mall in Flag Staff, Arizona. In particular, A-negative and O-negative blood types have less than a two-day supply. As of April 16, A-negative and O-negative were at critical supply levels. .
Where Is God?
When a tragedy occurs in the magnitude of the shootings last week at Virginia Tech, we look for answers. How could such evil be in the heart of one man, and why did this evil take the lives of 32 innocent lives? Has evil and hate taken over the world? And one question many will ask: Where was God when this happened? How can a loving God stand by and watch such evil and not stop it? I don't have the answers, and I'm not even close to understanding. I do know that all of us are confronted by evil and hate every day. We all know right from wrong, and sometimes, despite our greatest efforts, we succumb to the wrong and somehow are able to justify it at the end of the day. Bad things happen. When they happen to bad people, we understand. An eye for an eye, we say. But when bad things happen to good people, we don't get it.
Can ambitious builder back up bold plans?
A year ago, John Deneen boasted in a newspaper story of his plans to build hundreds of new homes in Dolton and Robbins. Just a handful have gone up in Dolton, and Deneen is finished with that town. In Robbins, he's yet to build a single house. He burst onto the scene about two years ago, with no reputation as a developer but armed with lots of bold plans. An indoor water park surrounded by a shopping center and hotel would be going up in Dolton, Deneen promised. In Chicago Heights, he was going to build a factory that would turn out inexpensive pre-fab homes. Harvey's decrepit Dixie Square Mall would be razed, and new stores built in its place, he vowed. So far, Deneen's history in the Southland has been one of unfulfilled promises.
