Developer may sell off shopping malls
The Syracuse-based company that owns some of New York's largest malls, including shopping centers in Albany, Warren and Berkshire counties, is considering putting some of those malls and several others in Massachusetts up for sale. Robert Congel, founder of The Pyramid Companies, says the trustees of the family trusts that own a controlling interest in the company have hired Goldman, Sachs to look into the possibility of selling 16 properties – including Crossgates Mall, Berkshire Mall and Aviation Mall. A FONDNESS FOR GREEN
Eco-friendly merchandise is looking better than ever. And thanks to Robyn Wade and Sarah Hood, owners of ReBelle, it's getting easier to find. Located downstairs from Sqecial Media, at 371 South Limestone, ReBelle is filled with all sorts of "green" products that are anything but boring. They include original clothing, bags made from billboards, paper from elephant poop (thoroughly cleaned!) and notebooks from computer circuit boards. ReBelle, which the owners call an "environmental living and fiber store," also believes in keeping it local, with about 20 percent of the stock handmade in Central Kentucky. It carries new materials too, including knitting needles made from sustainably harvested birch and yarn from hemp and bamboo. To celebrate Earth Day on Sunday, the store will have a sale on all sustainable and recycled items.

Dubai short on office space
Dubai, the Middle East's fastest-growing city, is running out of office space, according to the commercial property broker CB Richard Ellis Group Inc. The lack of space is making it harder for foreign companies to profit from the sheikdom's economic boom, said Nicholas Maclean, managing director of the firm's business in the region. Some U.S. companies have agreed to occupy offices that won't be built for two years, he said. .
Post Office under threat
ILFORD'S flagship Post Office could close with services relocating to WH Smith in the Mall Shopping Centre. Post Office Ltd have unveiled plans to close 70 Post Offices, including one in Clements Road, and relocate them to nearby WH Smith stores following a partnership with the retail giant. Spokesman James Taylor said: "It's not closing it's being relocated. The shopping centre is central to the town and it's where a lot of people go so we don't anticipate it being any more difficult to get to. "If anyone does have any concerns there will be a public consultation before the move goes ahead, although this isn't on the principle of the move but the viability of services." The announcement angered Ilford South MP Mike Gapes who fears it is a way for the council to retrieve the site as part of the town centre regeneration, although a spokesman denied this.
